Things I do

A list of things that I do – probably within the last 5 or so years – that I would have though was weird or dumb only a few years ago.

  • I buy fresh flowers, just to have something alive & beautiful in the house.
  • I do the dishes after every meal & make my bed every morning
  • I send greeting cards
  • I stop to ask people how they’re feeling and what they’ve been up to lately, and I’m genuinely interested.
  • I¬†wonder how I’ll die
  • I spend money on quality vs. quantity
  • I prefer being at home vs. being “out”
  • I douse myself in baby powder every morning after the shower
  • I ask for snuggles
  • I don’t get angry when someone asks for a snuggle
  • I hug
  • I am jealous of younger people
  • I go to work every day, even when I don’t want to
  • I wake up to pee at least 2 times a night
  • I sometimes need drugs to go to and stay asleep
  • I think gray hair on men is sexy
  • I never wear heels – unless it’s mandatory (like I’m in a wedding or something)
  • I only shave my legs when necessary
  • I have a drawer in the kitchen dedicated to “pills”
  • I make coffee every morning
  • I buy the expensive laundry soap
  • I listen to the radio – without complaints
  • I wear makeup every day
  • I put on glasses to see things that are too small
  • I consider what I’m eating before I eat it
  • I purposely buy materials that do not need ironing
  • I ask “can you smell that?” all the time
  • I ask “do I stink” even more often
  • I value soft toilet paper & understand the multiple uses of baby wipes
  • I don’t mind taking the “long way” home sometimes
  • I try to take interest in what my loved ones are passionate about
  • I’ll spend an extra $20 just to not have to argue¬†about a bill or a service I’ve canceled
  • I have “stories” and I need to keep up with them regularly on TV
  • I don’t like movies as much as I used to and often go just for the popcorn
  • I vacuum all the time
